Adjectives used to compare nouns of the same category are Adjectives of Comparison. There are three levels of comparison in the English language.
एक श्रेणी के nouns में तुलना करने में Adjectives की विशेष भूमिका है. English भाषा में तुलना 3 स्तर पर की जा सकती है.
  1. Positive Degree - मूलावस्था
  2. Comparative Degree - उत्तरावस्था
  3. Superlative Degree - उत्तमावस्था
पहला स्तर - Positive Degree (मूलावस्था)
The first level of comparison is the positive degree.
पहले स्तर पर adjective का प्रयोग उसके साधारण रूप में होता है, जैसे...

> Raju is strong.
यहाँ पता चलता है कि Raju बलवान है.

The use of positive degree of a quality is made for comparing something of the same level.
इसका रूप के उपयोग केवल किसी गुण के स्तर की तुलना उसी के समतल पर करने किया जाता.

> Raju is as strong as Mahesh.
इस वाक्य से यह जानकारी मिलती है कि Raju और Mahesh का बल एक समान हैं.

दूसरा स्तर - Comparative Degree (उत्तरावस्था)
The second level of comparison is the comparative degree. This type of compares between two things or persons.
दूसरे स्तर पर adjective का प्रयोग दो व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं के बीच तुलना करने के किया जाता है, जैसे...

> Raju is stronger than Mahesh.
इस वाक्य से यह जानकारी मिलती है कि Raju और Mahesh में से Raju ज्यादा बलवान है.

यहाँ stronger शब्द strong का comparative degree रूप है.
तीसरा स्तर - Superlative Degree (उत्तमावस्था)
The superlative degreee of comparison is used when comparing between more than two objects or persons तीसरे स्तर पर adjective का प्रयोग दो से अधिक व्यक्तियों या वस्तुओं के बीच तुलना करने के किया जाता है, जैसे...

यह वाक्य जानकारी देता है कि Raju अपने मित्रों में सबसे अधिक बलवान है.
